The bifold sashes are 55mm wide giving an overall slimline sightline of 120mm., one of the slimmest on the market.

Normal bifold doors are glazed using old fashioned time consuming bead and wedge gasket. This takes hours to fit for even the most experienced installer. Our state of the art slimline system using quick fit beading with integrated rubber gaskets. Simply push the gasket into place and glaze the bifolds in minutes.

Yes. As standard we deliver our Smarts Bifold Doors preassembled for ease of install. However if access is an issue, we cam deliver these in kit form.

Bottom hung bifold doors have the main track and weight distributed across the bottom of the doors. Top hung doors have the main track and weight distributed across the top. Due to this bottom hung door are able to operate more smooth as the weight of the doors is not pulling down from the top of the frame. Bottom hung doors are also easier to install as they do not require as much support above the door when compared to a top hung equivalent.

Yes, the sizes you enter are the overall sizes for your doorset. This includes the frame and cill (if chosen). E.g. A 900w x 2100h doorset is the overall size including the frame. This means that the door slab itself is smaller then 900w x 2100h due to the frame being incorporated into these sizes. This is also the same for side panels which are also surrounded by frame

Expanded colour range.
At External Doors Online our Smarts Visofold 1000 Aluminium Slimline Bifold Doors are available in three standard powder coated colours, with the option of choosing a different colour for the interior to help you create the look that is perfect for your property.
We also offer an special range of woodgrain 9 foil woodgrain colours, to offer a complete match with our range of Deceuninck PVC windows. These colours include white, cream, agate grey, Chartwell green, anthracite grey, black, Irish oak, golden oak & rosewood.
High Thermal Efficiency.
Each doorset carries 28mm double glazed argon-filled units incorporating soft coat toughened safety glass as standard, which naturally ensures that only a limited amount of heat escapes through the glass. With a suitable triple-glazed unit our bifold doors can achieve u-values as low as 1.4W/m²K, similar to our French and patio door ranges.

Our bifolding door system utilises the latest polyamide thermal break technology creating a barrier between the cold outside and warm inside. Bifold doors also come with multiple rubber seals and draught excluders helping to ensure that nothing, but sunlight passes through the doors. The door has been tested to 750Pa (approximately 75mph wind speed) with no water leaks and minimal air leakage.

Bifold Door Measuring Guide
The width and height of your the bifold door you need to order, is the structural opening size minus a fitting tolerances.
We recommend you allow a 10 - 15mm fitting tolerance between manufacturing sizes and the smallest width and height dimension (please see images).
Use a large spirit level and measure the cross corners of the aperture to ensure the opening is square and true.
Take three width and three height measurements and minus 10 - 15mm from the smallest measurement measured on each dimension to determine the actual required manufacturing size of your door.
E.g, Strutural opening 3015 x 2115mm, recommended size to order 3000 x 2100mm.
Please note that when ordering your bifold doors the overall dimensions includes all components e.g. cills and add ons.
